Damn, what a past couple of weeks. It has not been a good month for my vehicle situation. My truck wouldn't start and I thought it was my battery, so I replaced that...nope, starter. That took about 6-7 hours to replace...not fun. So, just when I'm thinking that my truck is finally back in great condition and I'm excited about driving in the snow...I drop my transmission. Not good at all. And I can't find a transmission anywhere...scrap yards, anything. The only option is to have it rehauled which, after it's all said and done...to get my truck back on the road, you're talking about $1000. The truck is barely worth more than that. So, I've decided to go car shopping and my vehicle of choice has been narrowed down to early 90's Chevy pickup. They're cheap; they'll run forever; and if/when they break, parts are cheap and easy to replace. I've found a couple nice ones. I've heard that I should look for a older civic or camry, but I agree with my brother...you just have no idea what you're getting when you get a small car that's that old. With a pickup, they're pretty much WYSIWYG. So, altho I'm not excited about spending the money, it is exciting to get a new vehicle...I'm just praying that whatever I get has no issues and will last me a long time...or at least until I can afford something newer.
As always, I'll post a new song or video that I've just discovered, or a song that I've just been listening to a lot lately. So, here's a song my brother told me about:

Late hours
Altho it sucks having to work late sometimes, I can't complain about the paychecks. As of last (tuesday) night, I had already banked 21.25 hours. Kind of funny that this kind of week comes about right when my boss is saying that we're going to be getting a little tighter on money until we get some more investors. Haha, oh well. Gotta make deadlines somehow.
Hmmm...favorite song right now...let's see...

Winter Camping
So, this weekend, I went out with the troop to camp for two nights in a winter storm warning. You may think I'm crazy, and you're probably right, but it was probably one of the best campouts I've had. We've gone winter camping before, but the snow has usually been wet or melting crap...Not this weekend. There was already a good 8 inches or so when we got there and we probably got that much again over the weekend. It was snowing non-stop until about 9 o'clock Saturday night. But, the great thing was, it was all perfect powder. We actually hiked cross-country (i.e. straight through the woods with a map and compass...not on trails)for about 4.5 miles and it wasn't bad. The worst part was when we'd get moving pretty good and start to sweat, then that would freeze. But it was pretty good for the most part. I only got cold once on the trip and that was Sunday morning when i woke up and my boots were chunks of solid ice. But once I started moving and they thawed out, all was good.
So, all in all, it was a really good campout and I think the younger guys learned a lot. Now I just get to look forward to doing it all over again in January.

Quittin' Time
Taking off for the day. Gotta go cash the check, pay some rent, buy a few necessities, and fix my truck. Maybe find an empty parking lot and spin some doughnuts for the hell of it. We'll see.
All I know is, I'm outta here.

Day Ending
So, I think I've pretty much figured out all the settings on these blogs. It's pretty cool. It will definitely come in handy when I'm gone traveling for awhile and such and don't feel like calling and talking to everyone on the phone and telling the same stories over and over again. Cuz I'm just lazy like that, ya know?
Here are the blogs I've been working on today...and the home site that's linked to them:

Here are the three websites I've built so far. They aren't anything fancy; I don't even know HTML code yet, but I don't think they're bad for only using a code generating site builder. Let me know what you think...

Just Starting Out
So, I've never blogged before and I'm doing this to figure out how for a website at work. Anyways, we'll go with the normal, middle school journal entry...Haha
Got up at 8 this morning, took Spence to drop his car off at the shop, came to work...and that's all that's happened all day. Well, my mom and sisters stopped by to drop a couple things off for me and to pick something up. I don't know what it was, but my sisters acted kinda weird when I introduced them to Kate (the lady here at work). Normally, they're very comfortable and talkative around adults...even ones they've just met. I dunno...God only knows what their life is like right now.
Well, that's enough for a test run now...knowing me, I'll be on here fairly often.
